Holdem is all about individuals and arrangement. All knowledgeable Hold’em enthusiasts concur that position in no limit Hold’em is fundamentally important. Playing your hole cards in last position may be much more profitable than in starting poker position. The reason because a lot more information is collected prior to acting.
e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local poker room. I limped in with 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, just to see a bit of action. Flop came down A-A-4. A bettor in early spot laid a $15 bet. 2 players fold and it was my turn to act. I should have folded, but something seemed a tiny bit off. I read this person as a weak-tight individual, and typically if he had the strongest hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn arrived with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My challenger laid another wager of $20. I debated a bit, but made a decision to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his $20. He folds and I take the pot.
Sitting at late spot allows you an idea where you are positioned by watching how other entrants behave and bet. On the flip side, people at early position might use their poker spot to check-raise the late positioned competitors and trap them later at the end. In Hold’em, each ends, late and starting should be bet carefully.
