Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the wild west in an excellent game for beginning level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the dealer, unlike almost all other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players do not have to worry about other, more experienced gamblers winning their moolla.
An additional Pai Gow benefit is the generally leisurely game play, novices will be able to take their time and plan while not having to make quick decisions.
It’s also simpler to gamble on for an extended time with basically a small amount of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands has to be under each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards faces showing and the house receives seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
