For a match where the majority of players rarely consider luck, there are tonnes of superstitions in poker. When you say that an individual was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For example, if you mention that you were unfortunate, your fortune may not change.

Ok, that might sound a bit strange, but poker is a casino game armed with folklores. Did you realize that if you are playing a game with 2 seperate decks and you’re asked to select the deck, you should always pick the deck that is furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a run of terrible cards, you must settle on a hankerchief to break your bad luck? It’s certainly considered good fortune to blow through a deck of cards while they are being mixed up.

Some other interesting poker superstitions are:

  • You will be able to alter the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest position at the poker table faces the door.
  • The unluckiest chair has its rear to a fireplace.
  • When shifting chairs, you should always do so clockwise.
  • The unluckiest poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It is most unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Mon is a awful day for betting on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a terrible day, despite what day of the week it is.
